Voice दो प्रकार के होते हैं

1. Active Voice
2. Passive Voice

Definitions

1. Active voice: यदि किसी वाक्य का कर्ता क्रिया का संपादन करता हो, तो उस वाक्य में प्रयुक्त Verb को Active Voice में होना समझा जाता है।
2. Passive voice: यदि वाक्य का कर्ता सक्रिय नहीं हो, क्रिया का संपादन नहीं करता हो बल्कि क्रिया उसी पर संपादित होती हो, तो प्रयुक्त Verb को Passive Voice में होना समझा जाता है।

इन वाक्यों पर विचार करें

1. राम पढ़ाता है। Ram teaches.
2. राम को पढ़ाया जाता है। Ram is taught.

यहाँ प्रथम वाक्य में कर्ता (Ram) पढ़ाने का काम करता है, अर्थात् वह अभीष्ट क्रिया का संपादन करता है। अतः प्रयुक्त Verb ‘teaches Active Voice में हुआ।

दूसरे वाक्य में कर्ता (Ram) अभीष्ट क्रिया का संपादन नहीं करता है बल्कि उसी पर पढ़ाने की क्रिया संपादित होती है। अतः इस वाक्य में प्रयुक्त Verb is taught’ Passive Voice में हुआ।

दूसरे वाक्य में कर्ता (Ram) अभीष्ट क्रिया का संपादन नहीं करता है बल्कि उसी पर पढ़ाने की क्रिया संपादित होती है। अतः इस वाक्य में प्रयुक्त Verb is taught’ Passive Voice में हुआ।

अगर कर्ता संपादन करता है तो Active Voice का प्रयोग होगा और अगर क्रिया उसी पर संपादित होती है तो Passive Voice का प्रयोग होगा।

Active Voice और Passive Voice के कुछ अन्य उदाहरण

1. मोहन को प्रतिदिन पीटा जाता है—इस वाक्य का कर्ता मोहन है। जो क्रिया का संपादन नहीं करता है, बल्कि पीटने का काम उसी पर संपादित होता है। अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice में होगा।
2. पेड़ लगाया जा रहा है इस वाक्य में कर्ता ‘पेड़’ है जो कुछ नहीं कर रहा है, बल्कि उसपर ही लगाने का काम संपादित हो रहा है। अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice में होगा।
3. खिड़कियाँ तोड़ी जा रही हैं। यहाँ कर्ता ‘खिड़कियाँ हैं जो तोड़ने का काम नहीं कर रही है, बल्कि उन्हीं को तोड़ा जा रहा है। अतः Passive Voice का प्रयोग होगा।
4. मेरे द्वारा पत्र लिखा जा रहा है—इस वाक्य में कर्ता ‘पत्र’ है जो क्रिया का संपादन नहीं कर रहा है, बल्कि उसी पर क्रिया संपादित हो रही है। अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice में होगा।

1. Present Indefinite Tense : Passive Voice

Verb Form: am/is/are + v3

1. पेड़ लगाए जाते हैं। Trees are planted.
2. गेहूँ उपजाया जाता है। Wheat is grown.
3. यहाँ घोड़े बेचे जाते हैं। Horses are sold here.
4. हिंदी पढ़ाई जाती है। Hindi is taught.
5. मिठाइयाँ बाँटी जाती हैं। Sweets are distributed.
6. बच्चे पढ़ाए जाते हैं। Children are taught.
7. राम को प्यार किया जाता है। Ram is loved.
8. हमलोगों को पीटा जाता है। We are beaten.
9. तुम्हें प्यार किया जाता है। You are loved.
10. मुझे पढ़ाया जाता है। I am taught.
11. मुझे पढ़ाया जाता है। I am taught.

Note: Subject के बाद am/is/are लगा है और उसके बाद मुख्य क्रिया का V3 form.

Negative Sentences

1. यहाँ उर्दू नहीं पढ़ाई जाती है। Urdu is not taught here.
2. राम को नहीं पीटा जाता है। Ram is not beaten.
3. हरे पेड़ नहीं काटे जाते हैं। Green trees are not cut.

Interrogative Sentences

1. क्या उसे पीटा जाता है? Is he beaten?
2. क्या बच्चे पढ़ाए जाते हैं? Are the children taught?
3. क्या तुम्हें नहीं पढ़ाया जाता है? Are you not taught?

1. गायों को क्या खिलाया जाता है? What are cows fed?

6. लोहा कहाँ तैयार किया जाता है? Where is iron manufactured?

2. Present Continuous Tense: Passive Voice

Verb Form: am/is/are + being + v3.

1. पत्र लिखा जा रहा है। A letter is being written.
2. एक पुल बनाया जा रहा है। A bridge is being built.
3. दुकानें बंद की जा रही हैं। The shops are being closed.
4. हमलोगों को पढ़ाया जा रहा है। We are being taught.
5. मुझे तंग किया जा रहा है। I am being vexed.
6. सड़कें मरम्मत की जा रही हैं। The roads are being repaired.
7. हमलोगों के द्वारा काम किया जा रहा है। The work is being done by us.

Note: Subject के बाद am/is/are + being लगा है और उसके बाद मुख्य क्रिया का V3 form.
