Note: What/where/Who के बाद प्रयुक्त Verb के Number का। चुनाव उसके बाद आनेवाले Noun/Pronoun के अनुसार हुआ है।

1. Interrogative Sentence क्या है?

Definition:
Interrogative sentence वह वाक्य है जो सवाल पूछता है और इसके अंत में हमेशा “?” (question mark) लगता है।

Types of Interrogative Sentences:

1. Yes/No Questions (हाँ/नहीं में उत्तर)
   • Example: Are you a student?
   • Hindi: क्या आप छात्र हैं?
2. Wh-Questions (कौन, क्या, कब, कहाँ, क्यों, कैसे)
   • Example: Where do you live?
   • Hindi: आप कहाँ रहते हैं?
3. Alternative Questions (विकल्प प्रश्न)
   • Example: Do you want tea or coffee?
   • Hindi: क्या आप चाय चाहते हैं या कॉफ़ी?
4. Tag Questions (छोटे प्रश्न जोड़कर पुष्टि करना)
   • Example: You are coming, aren’t you?
   • Hindi: आप आ रहे हैं, हैं ना?

2. कुछ और Hints (सुझाव) – Tips for Forming Interrogative Sentences

a) Auxiliary Verb का सही उपयोग करें

• Yes/No Questions में मददगार auxiliary verbs का प्रयोग करें – do, does, did, is, am, are, was, were, have, has, will
• Example:
  • He goes to school. → Does he go to school?
  • She is reading a book. → Is she reading a book?

b) Wh-Questions की संरचना

• Wh-word + Auxiliary verb + Subject + Main verb + Object
• Example:
  • Where (wh-word) + do (auxiliary) + you (subject) + live (main verb)?
  • हिंदी: आप कहाँ रहते हैं?

c) Tag Questions में नियम

• Positive statement → negative tag
  • Example: She is coming, isn’t she?
• Negative statement → positive tag
  • Example: You don’t like coffee, do you?

d) Politeness के लिए Could/Would का प्रयोग करें

• Example: Could you please open the window?
• Hindi: क्या आप कृपया खिड़की खोल सकते हैं?

3. Examples (उदाहरण)

1. Yes/No Question:
   • English: Is he your friend?
   • Hindi: क्या वह आपका दोस्त है?
2. Wh-Question:
   • English: What are you doing?
   • Hindi: आप क्या कर रहे हैं?
3. Alternative Question:
   • English: Would you like coffee or tea?
   • Hindi: क्या आप कॉफ़ी लेंगे या चाय?
4. Tag Question:
   • English: They are coming, aren’t they?
   • Hindi: वे आ रहे हैं, हैं ना?
5. Polite Question:
   • English: Would you help me with this work?
   • Hindi: क्या आप मुझे इस काम में मदद करेंगे?
