#Basic Pay Band in BSF
Pay Band is known as the range of the salary given per month to all soldiers. At the start, your salary will be given according to your post category. After some time your salary increases as you get promoted up in the post. Although, the increment rate while promoting happens is 3% per annum.

Ranks in the BSF
The rank structure of the BSF is divided into two categories i.e. Gazetted Officers and Non-Gazetted Officers.

Ranks of the Non-Gazetted Officers in increasing order is:

BSF Promotion
The promotion in the BSF is also according to the categories, it is different for both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted Officers. Before the promotion, every officer is required to pass a pre-promotion course, according to the merit in this course personnel get their promotion. The officers under the Non-Gazetted category get promotions according to merit like constable to head constable or head constable to sub-inspector.
