Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the advance reservation period (ARP) of all Specials notified from 30 days to 120 days. Booking of Parcel and luggage shall be permitted in all these 230 trains.<\/p>\n<p>The above changes shall be implemented with effect from 08:00 hrs of train booking date of 31st May 2025 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>Other terms e.g., Current booking, Tatkal quota allocation of seats to road side stations etc to be same as in regular time tabled trains.<\/p>\n<p>These instructions can also be viewed on the Indian Railways website-www.indianrailways.gov.in under the head commercial circulars in Traffic Commercial Directorate.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the latest official guidance from <strong>Indian Railways on the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for Special Trains<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83e\uddfe ARP Update for Special Trains<\/h2>\n<h3>\ud83d\udd3c Historical Shift: 30\u202fto\u202f120 Days (2025)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Initially, special Rajdhani and Express trains had an ARP of just <strong>30 days<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On <strong>31 May 2025<\/strong>, the ARP was increased to <strong>120 days<\/strong> for 230 newly introduced special trains, including 30 Rajdhani-type and 200 Mail\/Express specials. Bookings opened from that date. Reservations beyond 60 days are still cancellable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exceptions<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Foreign Tourist Quota (FTQ)<\/strong> tickets retain a <strong>365-day ARP<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Certain short-distance day trains like the <strong>Taj Express<\/strong> and <strong>Gomti Express<\/strong> continue with their existing shorter ARPs.
