\n(a) whether it is a fact that the work for Lalitpur-Singrauli railway project has been started by construction company;<\/p>\n

(b) if so, the allotment and expenditure of funds during the last three years and progress made thereon and by when the work is targeted to be completed; and<\/p>\n

(c) if not, the detailed reasons therefor?<\/p>\n

ANSWER<\/p>\n

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI RAJEN GOHAIN)<\/strong><\/p>\n

(a): Yes, Sir.<\/p>\n

(b) & (c): Lalitpur-Khajuraho (167km) and Mahoba-Khajuraho (62.50km) sections have been commissioned. Land acquisition has been taken up in the remaining sections and work taken up in the available land.<\/p>\n

During last three years (2025-16 to 2025-18), Rs.1072.05 crore has been incurred as an expenditure and an outlay of Rs.315 crore has been provided for this project for the year 2025-19.<\/p>\n

Completion of the project is dependent upon many factors such as land acquisition, statutory clearances like forestry and wild life clearances, shifting of services, cutting of trees. Since many of these factors are beyond the control of Ministry of Railways, timeline for completion of the project is not feasible to be fixed.<\/p>\n
