The established timings remain unchanged for both AC and non\u2011AC classes, and agent booking slots are still as before<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Important Changes Effective <strong>May 1, 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Waiting list (WL) ticket holders<\/strong> are <strong>no longer permitted<\/strong> to board Sleeper or AC coaches. They can travel only in general unreserved compartments; violations may result in fines<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Advance Reservation Period (ARP)<\/strong> has been reduced to <strong>60 days<\/strong> (formerly 120 days) to discourage ticket hoarding and improve availability near departure dates<\/li>\n<li><strong>OTP (mobile) verification<\/strong> is mandatory for <em>all<\/em> bookings made through IRCTC website or app starting May 1, 2025<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>New <strong>Tatkal Ticket Rules<\/strong> from <strong>July 1, 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>\ud83c\udfaf Phase\u20111: Aadhaar Authentication Required<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>From <strong>1 July 2025<\/strong>, <strong>only Aadhaar\u2011authenticated users<\/strong> (via IRCTC account linked with Aadhaar and mobile number) can book <strong>Tatkal tickets online<\/strong> via the IRCTC website or app .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\ud83c\udfaf Phase\u20112: OTP Verification Enforced<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting <strong>15 July 2025<\/strong>, <strong>Aadhaar\u2011based OTP authentication<\/strong> becomes mandatory for <strong>all Tatkal bookings<\/strong>, including those made at PRS counters and through authorised agents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u270b Agent Restrictions During Peak Booking Window<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>During the <strong>first 30 minutes<\/strong> of Tatkal opening:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Agents are barred<\/strong> from booking AC class tickets between 10:00\u201310:30\u202fAM<\/li>\n<li>For non\u2011AC classes between 11:00\u201311:30\u202fAM<\/li>\n<li><strong>Only Aadhaar\u2011verified individual users<\/strong> can book in that period to prioritize genuine passengers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Additional Key Updates (From <strong>July\u00a01,\u00a02025<\/strong>)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reservation charts<\/strong> will now be prepared <strong>8 hours before<\/strong> scheduled departure\u2014previously around 4\u202fhours. Trains departing early (before 2\u202fPM) will have charts published the <strong>previous night at 9\u202fPM<\/strong>.
