02.03.2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has been decided to revise the charges for haulage of empty coaches as under:-<\/p>\n<table class=\"csdtable\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"19\">i.<\/td>\n<td width=\"258\">When\u00a0 hauled\u00a0 by a-scheduled\u00a0 train<\/td>\n<td width=\"361\">Rs.116\u00a0 per Coach\u00a0 per\u00a0 km. subject\u00a0 to a minimum\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 RS.11600\u00a0 per\u00a0 Coach for\u00a0 all gauges\u00a0 (minimum\u00a0\u00a0 distance for charge\u00a0 100\u00a0\u00a0 km).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"19\">ii.<\/td>\n<td width=\"258\">When\u00a0\u00a0 hauled\u00a0 by a special\u00a0 train<\/td>\n<td width=\"361\">Rs.3454\u00a0\u00a0 per train per\u00a0 km.\u00a0 subject to a\u00a0 minimum\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 RS.345400\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 per\u00a0\u00a0 train\u00a0\u00a0 for all gauges\u00a0 (minimum\u00a0\u00a0 distance\u00a0\u00a0 for charge\u00a0\u00a0 100 km).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>If the charges at the rate of Rs. 116.00 per coach per kilometer for the actual number of coaches hauled by a special train works, out the higher than the charges at rates indicated in (ii) above, the former would be leviable.<\/p>\n<p>These instructions shall be applicable\u2019 for haulage of empty coaches manufactured by ICF, RCF, BEML Ltd, the coaches to be transported to Bangladesh etc.<\/p>\n<p>These charges will come into force with immediate effect and will remain valid till further advice.<\/p>\n<p>This, issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.<\/p>\n<p>Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.<\/p>\n<p>sd\/-<br \/>\n<strong>(Vikram Singh)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Director Passenger Marketing<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Railway Board.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reilsolar.com\/train\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2021\/12\/cc_12.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here to Download the Original Order<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the official breakdown of charges for hauling <strong>empty coaches on private account<\/strong>, as per <strong>Commercial Circular No. 12 of 2016<\/strong> from the Railway Board:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Charges for Haulage of Empty Coaches \u2014 Private Account<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rates apply to coaches manufactured by ICF, RCF, BEML, or being transported for Bangladesh, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>Type of Haulage<\/th>\n<th>Charge<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>With a scheduled train<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>\u20b9116 per coach per km <em>(minimum \u20b911,600 per coach; minimum distance 100 km)<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>With a special train<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>\u20b93,454 per train per km <em>(minimum \u20b9345,400 per train; minimum distance 100 km)<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<blockquote><p>If calculating \u20b9116 per coach per km for all coaches in a special train results in higher charges than the flat \u20b93,454 per train per km, then the higher amount applies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>How It Works<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Scheduled Train Haulage<\/strong>: Your empty coach is attached to an existing timetable train\u2014this is significantly cheaper, charged per km per coach.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special Train Haulage<\/strong>: If a dedicated (special) train is deployed solely for moving empty coaches, there&#8217;s a flat per-train per-km rate, regardless of number of coaches, under certain conditions\u2014but the per-coach calculation may still apply if it yields higher charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This ensures fair pricing whether you&#8217;re moving coaches within regular operations or through special arrangements.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Real-World Perspective<\/h3>\n<p>From IRCTC\u2019s coaching tariff interpretations (e.g., for special coaches), we also know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Empty haulage charges<\/strong> can approximate the <strong>full tariff rate (basic fare + reservation charge)<\/strong> per coach for the actual distance or a flat minimum of <strong>200 km<\/strong>, whichever is higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This aligns with the Railway\u2019s broader principle of taxiing costs being anchored in standard fare metrics, though for contractual clarity, the circular\u2019s specific rates prevail.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Got a scenario in mind\u2014like moving a certain number of coaches over a known distance?
