Extension of Naupada-Gunupur line upto Theruvali was included in the Budget 2025-18 subject to requisite approvals (viz. NITI Aayog and Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs). Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project has been prepared. As per DPR, the cost of the project is approx. Rs.1274 crore with Rate of Return (-)3.19%.<\/p>\n<p>State Government of Odisha has been requested for providing land free of cost and sharing 50% cost of the project as the project is financially unviable. Consent of Government of Odisha is awaited.<\/p>\n<p>Project is put up to CCEA, only after completion of formalities like finalizing the funding mechanism of the project.<\/p>\n<p>(d) and (e): Do not arise, as the project is not yet sanctioned.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a comprehensive overview of the <strong>Gunupur\u2013Therubali Railway Line Project<\/strong>, based on the latest official sources and on-ground updates as of mid\u20112025:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83d\ude84 About the Project<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Gunupur\u2013Therubali New Line<\/strong> is a <strong>73.62\u202fkm<\/strong> railway line sanctioned on <strong>21 August 2025<\/strong>, to connect <strong>Gunupur<\/strong> (Rayagada district) with <strong>Therubali<\/strong> on the existing Broad Gauge network.<\/li>\n<li>Estimated project cost: <strong>\u20b91,326 crore<\/strong>, scheduled for completion within <strong>five years (by 2029\u201330)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83d\udccd Route &amp;
