Sub: Modification in reservation\/cancellation requisition form.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please refer to this office letter no. 201 l\/TG-I\/20\/P\/R.Form dated 04.11.2025 (Commercial Circular no. 57 of 2025), wherein it was advised to include the transgender option as Transgender (Male \/Female) alongside Male\/Female in reservation\/cancellation requisition form.<\/p>\n

2. The issue regarding issuing of certificate to the Transgender as Male\/Female was taken up with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, who has informed that the bill \u201cThe Transgender Person (Protection of Rights) Bill 2016\u201d has been referred to Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment for examination and to make a report.<\/p>\n

2.1 In view of above and on receipt of a Writ Petition no. 24798(W) of 2017\u2033 Atri Kar vs. Union of India & Others filed in the High Court of Calcutta, the matter has been reviewed and it has been decided that till such time the detailed modalities on this account are finalised by the Ministry of Social Justice, a provision may be made in the system to capture the gender of Transgender as \u201cT\u201d instead of T(M\/F) as advised earlier. There will, however, be no change iii the reservation\/cancellation requisition form for the time being.<\/p>\n

3. CRIS will make necessary changes in the software for giving the option of Transgender (T) alongside the option of Male\/Female (M\/F) in PRS as well as in online reservation system under intimation to all zonal Railways as well as this office.<\/p>\n

Cancellation Charges for Confirmed Tickets<\/strong><\/p>\n

The amount deducted is based on the time of cancellation and the status of your ticket. Detailed explanations are given below:-<\/p>\n

(a) If the ticket is presented for cancellation more than forty eight hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train, a minimum per passenger cancellation charges shall be deducted at the flat rate:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

(b)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the ticket is presented for cancellation between forty eight hours and upto twelve hours before the scheduled departure of the train<\/td>\n25%(twenty five) percent of fare subject the minimum of the cancellation charge referred to in clause 1(a) plus GST applicable for all AC Classes<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

(c)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the ticket is presented for cancellation within twelve hours before the scheduled departure of the train and upto four hours before the scheduled departure of the train irrespective of distance<\/td>\n50%(Fifty) percent of fare subject to a minimum of the cancellation charge referred clause 1(a) ) plus GST applicable for all AC Classes<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

(d) No refund of fare shall be admissible on the ticket having confirmed<\/strong> reservation in case ticket is not cancelled or TDR not filed online upto four hours<\/strong> before the scheduled departure of the train<\/p>\n

(e) No refund of fare shall be admissible on RAC e-tickets<\/strong> in case the ticket is not cancelled or TDR not filed online upto thirty minutes<\/strong> before the scheduled departure of the train.<\/p>\n

Updated Reservation\/Cancellation Form (2025)<\/h2>\n

The Railway Board issued a clarification under Commercial Circular 11 of 2025 (dated April 19, 2025)<\/strong>, followed by a directive dated May 30, 2025<\/strong>, regarding updates to the reservation and cancellation requisition form:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The form now includes columns to allow passengers to opt for the \u2018Vikalp\u2019 scheme<\/strong> and optionally provide their Aadhaar number<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Importantly, providing an Aadhaar number is entirely optional<\/strong>; it is not mandatory on the form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The updated form is now available in both English and Hindi<\/strong>, separate PDFs provided by the Railway Board. You can access these forms from official railway sources or zonal reservation offices.<\/p>\n
