However, as on 01.04.2025, 30 projects (11 new lines, 05 gauge conversion and 14 doubling) covering a total length of 5,173 km and costing Rs.57,247 crore, falling fully \/ partly in the State of Rajasthan are in different stages of Planning \/ Sanction \/ Execution.<\/p>\n<p>Average Annual Budget allocation for infrastructure projects and safety works, falling fully \/ partly in the State of Rajasthan, during 2014-19 has increased to Rs.2,951 crore per year, from Rs.682 crore per year (during 2009-14). Thus, an increase of 333% over the average annual budget allocation of 2009-14 (Rs.682 crore per year).<\/p>\n<p>Budget allotment for infrastructure projects and safety works, falling fully \/ partly in the State of Rajasthan for financial year 2019-20 was Rs.4686 crore, which is 587% more w.r.t. 2009-14. Budget allocation of Rs.4582 crore has been provided for Financial Year 2020-21, which is 572% more with respect to average Budget outlay for 2009-14.<\/p>\n<p>During 2009-14, 798 Km length (61 Km New Line, 675 Km Gauge Conversion and 62 Km Doubling) falling fully \/ partly in the State of Rajasthan was commissioned at an average rate of 160 Km per year.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>GOVERNMENT OF INDIA<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>LOK SABHA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UNSTARRED QUESTION NO: 1474<\/p>\n<p>ANSWERED ON: 27.11.2025<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Rail Lines in Rajasthan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nihal Chand Chauhan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:-<\/p>\n<p>(a) whether the Government proposes to lay new railway lines in several parts of the country including Rajasthan and if so, the details thereof; and<\/p>\n<p>(b) whether proposals of various States regarding new railway lines are under consideration of the Government and if so, the details thereof?<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANSWER \u2013 MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND COMMERCE &amp; INDUSTRY (SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(a) &amp; (b): Presently, Indian Railway have taken up 188 New Lines Projects of total length 21,295 Km and costing Rs.3.87 lakh crore, which are in different stages of planning\/sanction\/execution.<\/p>\n<p>These includes 11 New Line Projects falling fully\/partly in the State of Rajasthan of total length 1237.86 km and costing Rs.15,303 crore. Out of which 68.94 Km length has been commissioned and an expenditure of Rs.1543.24 crore has been incurred till March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Thorough review of throughput enhancement projects has been carried out and with focussed approach, the projects have been prioritized into Super Critical Projects (58 nos), Critical Projects (68 nos.) and other throughput enhancement projects (130 nos.).<\/p>\n<p>Presently, the balance length of Super Critical Projects is 2347 km, 5676 km of Critical Projects and 9703 Km for other Doubling Projects. The throw-forward for these projects is of the order of Rs.1.84 lakh crores and all out sincere and focussed approach is being adopted by Railway for quick execution and early return to Railways.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a comprehensive update on <strong>new railway lines, ongoing projects, and future initiatives across Rajasthan<\/strong> as of mid\u20112025, based on official announcements and recent developments:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83d\ude86 New Railway Lines Sanctioned &amp; Approved<\/h2>\n<p>Under the 2025\u201325 Union Budget, the <strong>North Western Railway zone<\/strong> has received <strong>\u20b99,714\u202fcrore<\/strong>, including \u20b91,438\u202fcrore for <strong>new rail lines across Rajasthan<\/strong>\u2014covering approximately <strong>1,500\u202fkm<\/strong> of new track<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eight major new lines include<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dausa\u2013Gangapur City:<\/strong> <del>92.7\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b9300\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ratlam\u2013Dungarpur:<\/strong> <del>176.5\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b9150\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ajmer\u2013Kota (via Nasirabad\u2013Jalindri):<\/strong> <del>145\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b950\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pushkar\u2013Merta:<\/strong> <del>59\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b950\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Taranga Hill\u2013Abu Road (via Ambaji):<\/strong> <del>89.4\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b9300\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Neemuch\u2013Bari Sadri:<\/strong> <del>48.3\u202fkm (<\/del>\u20b9100\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gudha Thathana\u2013Meethari Duttu:<\/strong> ~25\u202fkm (~120\u202fcrore)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>Pushkar\u2013Merta<\/strong> and <strong>Ras\u2013Merta<\/strong> lines were formally approved end\u20112025 to improve pilgrimage connectivity in Ajmer district<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83d\udd01 Important Doubling &amp; Capacity Expansion Projects<\/h2>\n<p>The same budget allocates \u20b9925\u202fcrore to <strong>double seven priority routes<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Phulera\u2013Degana (~108\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Degana\u2013Rai Ka Bag (approx. 145\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Jaipur\u2013Sawai Madhopur (~131\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Ajmer\u2013Chittorgarh (~186\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Sawai Madhopur Bypass (~7\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Churu\u2013Ratangarh (~43\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<li>Manheru\u2013Bhawani Khera (~31.5\u202fkm)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notably, <strong>Jaipur\u2013Sawai Madhopur doubling<\/strong> and upgrades on the Ajmer\u2013Chittorgarh route were also separately sanctioned in early 2025, at an estimated \u20b91,268\u202fcrore and \u20b91,813\u202fcrore respectively, covering ~152\u202fkm and ~178\u202fkm of route tracks \u00a0. The <strong>Luni\u2013Samdari\u2013Bhildi (via Degana \/ Ratangarh)<\/strong> line (128.75\u202fkm) also received \u20b91,276\u202fcrore sanction for new line construction from the same plan<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\u2699\ufe0f Strategic &amp; Infrastructure Projects<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Taranga Hill\u2013Ambaji\u2013Abu Road new line<\/strong> (~116.65\u202fkm) is under construction and expected to be completed by <strong>2026\u201327<\/strong>. It connects Rajasthan with Gujarat and supports pilgrimage connectivity for Taranga and Ambaji<\/li>\n<li>Rajasthan is also initiating its <strong>first broad-gauge high-speed test track<\/strong> near Gudha (Phulera) for speeds up to 230\u202fkm\/h, with operational readiness by late 2025. This ~60\u202fkm corridor includes high-speed loops and four test stations in Jodhpur Division<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>Jaipur Orbital Rail Corridor<\/strong> (~70\u202fkm) is planned to decongest city rail traffic via ring alignment\u2014key to future urban transit upgrades<\/li>\n<li>IR is constructing the <strong>country\u2019s first dedicated Vande Bharat maintenance depot<\/strong> at Bhagat Ki Kothi in <strong>Jodhpur Division<\/strong>, setting the stage for expanded premium train services in the state<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>\ud83e\uddf1 Station Redevelopment &amp;
