Sub: Refund of the tickets booked in regular time-tabled trains in operation prior to Lock down-cancellation in ICMS to enable refunds-regarding.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ref: F.No. TC.II\/2003\/2025\/Refund Corona, New Delhi dated 22.06.2025 of Director Passenger Marketing, Railway Board, (copy enclosed)<\/p>\n

Vide above referred letter of commercial Directorate, it was instructed that all tickets booked for the regular time-tabled trains for journey dates from 01.07.2025 to 12.08.2025<\/strong> may be cancelled and full refunds generated. In order to facilitate refunds, it is instructed that these trains be cancelled in ICMS by Zonal Railways. The special Mail\/Express trains shall continue to be operated.<\/p>\n

Zonal Railways are advised to ensure immediate compliance of the above instructions. Confirm action taken.<\/p>\n

Indian Railways Regular trains cancelled until 12 August 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

IRCTC Regular passenger trains further cancelled till 12-08-2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Special mail\/express trains and selected suburban trains (for essential staff as identified by State Government) will continue to operate. Further updates will be posted from time to time.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t able to find any official announcement or credible update<\/strong> stating that Indian Railways has extended the cancellation of regular trains up to 12 August 2025<\/strong>. All evidence points to such cancellations occurring during March\u2013August 2020<\/strong>, which was linked to the COVID-19 lockdown period.<\/p>\n
