It is 3% higher than the last year\u2019s earning from Freight which was Rs. 113897.20 Crores for the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Indian Railways has maintained the momentum of highest ever loading in consecutive 07 respective months from September, 2025 to March, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>On mission mode, Indian Railways\u2019 Freight loading for the month of March 2025 crossed last year\u2019s loading and earnings for the same period.<\/p>\n<p>In the month of March 2025, Indian Railways loading was 130.38 million tonnes which is 27.33% higher compare to last year\u2019s loading for the same period (103.05 million tonnes). Indian Railways loading was 130.38 million tonnes which includes 58.57 million tonnes of coal, 16.78 million tonnes of iron ore, 3.67 million tonnes of foodgrains, 2.57 million tonnes of fertilizers, 3.97 million tonnes of mineral oil and 9.56 million tonnes of cement (excluding clinker). In March, 2025, Indian Railways earned Rs. 12887.71 Crores from freight loading which is also 26.16% higher compared to last year\u2019s earnings for the same month (Rs. 10215.08 crores).<\/p>\n<p>It is worth mentioning that a number of concessions\/ discounts are also being given in Indian Railways to make Railways Freight movement very attractive.<\/p>\n<p>It may be noted that Freight trains\u2019 speed has also registered significant increase in the existing network. Average speed for the freight trains in March 2025 was registered as 45.6 Km\/hr which is 83% increase as compared to 24.93Km\/hr in the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Also, improvements in freight movements will be institutionalized and incorporated in the upcoming zero based time table.<\/p>\n<p>COVID 19 has been used by Indian Railways an opportunity to improve all round efficiencies and performances.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the updated overview of <strong>Indian Railways\u2019 record-breaking freight performance<\/strong> for FY 2022\u201323 and FY 2023\u201324, covering loading and earnings:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\ud83d\udea2 FY 2025\u201323 (April 2025\u2013March 2025)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Freight Loading<\/strong>: An all-time high of <strong>1,512 million tonnes (MT)<\/strong>, up from 1,418 MT in FY 2025\u201322\u2014a ~7% increase<\/li>\n<li><strong>Net Tonne-Kilometres (NTKM)<\/strong>: Surpassed <strong>900 billion NTKM<\/strong> for the first time (~903 Bn), a ~10% growth year-on-year<\/li>\n<li><strong>Commodity Gains<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Coal loading rose by ~75 MT to reach 728 MT.<\/li>\n<li>Fertiliser, containers, cement, POL, and other goods saw incremental loading growth (e.g. fertilizers +7.1 MT, containers +5 MT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automobile Growth<\/strong>: Loaded <strong>5,527 rake trips<\/strong>, up from 3,344 the previous year\u2014a ~65% jump<\/li>\n<li><strong>Freight Revenue<\/strong>: Gross freight earnings topped <strong>\u20b91.6 lakh crore<\/strong>, contributing to total combined freight and passenger revenues crossing <strong>\u20b92.2 lakh crore<\/strong> for the first time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\ud83d\udcc8 FY 2025\u201324 (April 2025\u2013March 2025)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Freight Loading<\/strong>: Broke its own record again, reaching <strong>1,591 MT<\/strong>, a ~5% rise from FY 2022\u201323 .<\/li>\n<li><strong>Revenue Milestone<\/strong>: Freight &amp;
