{"id":8902,"date":"2022-12-30T09:32:28","date_gmt":"2022-12-30T09:32:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irctcportal.in\/?p=8902"},"modified":"2022-12-30T09:32:28","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T09:32:28","slug":"institute-of-metro-and-rail-technologies-inaugurated-in-hyderabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reilsolar.com\/irctc\/institute-of-metro-and-rail-technologies-inaugurated-in-hyderabad\/","title":{"rendered":"Institute of Metro and Rail Technologies (IMRT) inaugurated in Hyderabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\"><\/header>\n<footer class=\"entry-footer\"><strong>Hyderabad<\/strong>:\u00a0 A first-of-its-kind specialisation institute for metro and railway technology was launched in Hyderabad yesterday to promote careers in the two rapidly-growing transportation services.<\/footer>\n<footer>\n<h2 class=\"entry-title\">Institute of Metro and Rail Technologies (IMRT) inaugurated in Hyderabad<\/h2>\n<\/footer>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The Institute of Metro and Rail Technologies (IMRT), which has a sprawling residential campus in Hyderabad, was launched here by the Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Sudhir Krishna.\u00a0 IRMT has been set up in association with Institute of Urban Transportation of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, Lloyds Rail Asia Ltd and the Reliability Engineering Center of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.<\/p>\n<p>IMRT aims at providing new career opportunities for fresh as well as experienced engineers who wish to make a career in the railway and metro railway industry.\u00a0 Institute of Metro &amp; Rail Technology (IMRT), the first of its kind specialized institute for metro and railway technology education was launched in the capital today by Dr. Sudhir Krishna, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India. The Institute will provide new career opportunities for fresh as well as experienced engineers wanting to make a career in the rapidly growing railway \/ metro industry.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Sudhir Krishna, Secretary, said, \u201cI\u2019m delighted to be a part of this launch. There are more than 19 upcoming metro rail projects in the country, all aimed at making commuting more easy and our cities more beautiful. However, to make this dream a reality we will need a large number of skilled manpower and, besides, comprehensive mobility planned for the influence zone of the MRTS Project.\u00a0 I expect IMRT to help in bridging this gap. The engineering students will now have another stream to specialize in and also be a part of the nation building process. This institute is the need of the hour and I congratulate BARSYL for taking this initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are more than 19 upcoming metro rail projects in the country, all aimed at making commuting easy. However, we will need a large pool of skilled manpower\u2026 For the Mass Rapid Transit System projects,\u201d Krishna said.<\/p>\n<p>For professionals employed with metro railway systems, IMRT will also launch the country\u2019s first professional course on \u2018Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety\u2019 (RAMS) in November in association with Llyods Rail Asia and the Reliability Engineering Centre of IIT-Kharagpur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIMRT will be known by the students we produce. We will mould the next generation of techno-managers who will create a positive impact in their work through learning,\u201d said Gyan Prakash, the Director General of the institute.<\/p>\n<p>The institute will offer a Post Graduate course for engineering students to produce \u2018industry-ready rail managers\u2019 well-versed in rail technologies through expertise which can be used globally, said Sunil Srivastava, an IMRT Governing Council Member.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of IMRT I would like to thank each one of you present here for being a part of this launch. IMRT will be known by the students we produce. We will mould the next-generation of techno-managers who will create a positive impact in their work through their learning. IMRT\u2019s associations with metro corporations, the industry, and premium educational institutions will ensure that everything taught is relevant and tuned to international standards\u201d said Gyan Prakash, Director General, IMRT. DS Rao, Chairman, Governing Council of IMRT, said \u201cOur courses are designed to drive students to think and apply classroom learning to solve real-life cases.
