In Past Continuous Negative sentence, ‘Not’ is added just before ‘Verb(Ist form)’. ‘Ing’ is added with first form of Verb in all types of sentences of Past Continuous tense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was\/Were + Subject + Not + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + Object + (?)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Interrogative sentence of Past Continuous Tense starts with ‘Was\/Were’ and first form of Verb with ‘Ing’ is used in it. In Interrogative & Negative sentence, ‘Not’ is added just before Verb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Past Continuous Tense, time may come in sentence but starting time of action should not be there. If starting time of the action is given and action remains continue, the Continuous Tense becomes Perfect Continuous Tense e.g. He was studying in Government School. In this sentence, action is continuous but starting time of the action ‘studying’ is not given, hence it is Past Continuous Tense. If we add starting time of action ‘studying for three years’ then it will become Past Perfect Continuous tense and it will be translated as ‘He had been studying in Government school for the last three years’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
