Shortcut Rule 1 <\/strong>: Across \u092a\u093e\u0930<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Shortcut Rule 3 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            During \u0926\u094c\u0930\u093e\u0928<\/strong>– denotes duration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • During the war, many people suffered hardship. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • We go to Darjeeling during summer every year. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Shortcut Rule 4 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              From<\/strong> \u0938\u0947- is used with past \/ future tenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • I stayed there from Monday to Wednesday. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • I will start my preparation from Monday next. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                Shortcut Rule 5 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Of<\/strong> \u0915\u093e- denotes origin \/ cause<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \n
                • She comes of a rich family (origin) \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • He died of Malaria (cause) but she died in an accident. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  Off \u092c\u0902\u0926<\/strong>– denotes ‘separation’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  • A button has come off. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • He is off duty today. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    Shortcut Rule 6 :<\/strong> After a preposition, a pronoun under objective case should be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                    • He depends on I. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • He depends on me. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                      Shortcut Rule 7 :<\/strong> When two words are connected by ‘and \/ or’ etc., the prepositions should be mentioned clearly to be used with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      • He was surprised at as well as pleased with her performance. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      • She is conscious and engaged in her work. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      • She is conscious of and engaged in her work \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                        Shortcut Rule 8 <\/strong>: No preposition should be used with the noun ‘Home’ except when it is followed by an adjective in the possessive case, say go to home \/ arrive home \/ reach home \/ get home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        • He decided to go to Krishna’s home. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                          Shortcut Rule 9<\/strong> : After transitive verbs such as ‘Discuss\/Describe\/reach\/order\/tell\/demand\/attach\/resemble\/ridicule<\/strong> etc. no preposition is used. The verbs directly take an object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                          • He ordered for two cups of tea. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                            Shortcut Rule 10 :<\/strong> After the verbs “Say \/ suggest \/ propose \/ speak \/ explain \/ reply \/ complain \/talk \/ listen \/ write” <\/strong>the proposition “to” should be used if any object is used. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                            • He did not reply me. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • He did not reply to me. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • You never wrote me. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • You never wrote to me. \u2714<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • He suggested her that she should eat less. \u2613<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • He suggested to her that she should eat less. \u2714<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                              Shortcut Rule 11 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              Since<\/strong> \u091c\u092c\u0938\u0947- Denotes point of time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              For<\/strong> \u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u092f\u0947- denotes period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              They should be used with present tense or the present perfect continuous tense \/ past perfect tense  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              \/ past perfect continuous tenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                Shortcut Rule 12 :<\/strong> After the verb “Enter” the preposition “into” should not be used except  when it is used with reference to agreement or  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
