It caused by dehydration or loss of electrolytes in the body.<\/p>\n<p>Diarrhea is one of the major economic loss of commercial Dairy Farming. the major cause of diarrhea is E-coli Bacteria.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to control Calf Diarrhea?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Sulfadiamidine, it is the anti-bacterial powder give 150 mg\/kg body weight\u00a0 orally for 3 to 5 days<\/li>\n<li>Amprolium- 10 mg\/kg bodyweight for 3 to 5 days.<\/li>\n<li>Monesin 3 mg\/kg body weight in feed.<\/li>\n<li>Toltrazuril 20 mg \/kg body weight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Prevention of diarrhea<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Feed<\/strong>\u00a0the colostrums to newborn calf within 4 to 5 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Provide clean, dry and hygiene or well-ventilated\u00a0<strong>house to the calves<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t be overcrowding. There should be separated pen of new-born calves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Following precaution should be noted prior to vaccination:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>weak, debilitated, immune-compromised and infested cattle should not be vaccinated.<\/li>\n<li>Cows in an advanced stage of pregnancy and calves below three months of age must not be vaccinated.<\/li>\n<li>Cattles should be dewormed prior to vaccination.<\/li>\n<li>Vaccines especially live ones should be checked for the cold chain because these vaccines are very much heat sensitive in nature.<\/li>\n<li>Fresh sterilized disposable syringes and needles should be used for every animal to avoid cross-contamination.<\/li>\n<li>The interval between two different vaccine should be kept 15 to 21 days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Major cattle Disease in Dairy Farming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Foot &amp; Mouth Disease (FMD)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Foot and mouth disease is Highly transmissible Viral Disease it spread through direct contact or through contaminated feed, water or air. Better is that contaminated animal sends to the isolation pen. FMD is caused by Aphthovirus.\u00a0 This virus is the family of picornaviridae virus. This virus mainly affect on cloven hooved animals. If proper treatment is not done on time it can cause the Death of the animals.<\/p>\n<h3>Common Symptoms of\u00a0 FMD<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Vesicle or blister on Dental pad, Tongue and lips.<\/li>\n<li>Lameness<\/li>\n<li>Foot lesion<\/li>\n<li>Drop in milk<\/li>\n<li>Lesion on Tits<\/li>\n<li>Fever, Nasal discharge<\/li>\n<li>Loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Prior Vaccination is the only treatment.<\/li>\n<li>The affected area should be clean from Potassium permanganate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Prevention of FMD<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If the animal gets infected from the FMD virus than immediately separate them in quarantine House.<\/li>\n<li>vaccinate the calves at the age of 4 months. And repeat the vaccine\u00a0 Twice in a year at the interval of 6 months. It is one of the safe way to stay away from this disease.<\/li>\n<li>Wash the pen, water and feeder trough and destroy the feed consumed by an infected animal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This disease is caused by Bovine-Herpesvirus. It is a highly fatal infectious viral disease of cattle. The mortality is less up to 5 while the morbidity is 70% in this disease. This disease is detected in cattle in all over the world. The vaccine is quite much needed against this disease. This disease also known as bacterial pneumonia. The disease occurs mainly in cattle and buffalo. This is the very dangerous disease, 75 % of death is possible to the susceptible animal. HS mainly occurs during monsoon.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Common Symptoms of Hemorrhagic septicaemia<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>High rise in temperature<\/li>\n<li>Pneumonia<\/li>\n<li>Swelling on neck<\/li>\n<li>Nasal Discharge<\/li>\n<li>Difficult Breathing<\/li>\n<li>Decrease appetite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Prior Vaccination is the only treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Some animals survive after detection of HS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A low-cost vaccine can save your expensive animal. Vaccinate the calves after 6 months and above. This vaccine is scheduled once in a year only in endemic areas.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t overcrowding on the farm.<\/li>\n<li>The house should be well ventilated, dry and hygiene especially in monsoon season.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Black Quarter<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(BQ)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Black quarter is an acute, infectious and highly fatal bacterial disease of cattle. It is soil born infection which generally occurs during rainy season. The animal between age 8 months to 2.5 years generally mainly affected from Black Quarter. This disease also known from Blackleg.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Symptoms of\u00a0 Black Quarter<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Swelling on legs cause lameness is the common symptoms of BQ.<\/li>\n<li>Suddenly High Fever up to 108 \u00baF.<\/li>\n<li>Decrease appetite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There is not any perfect treatment after detection.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In endemic areas, the animals should be vaccinated once a year before the monsoon.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Brucellosis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This disease also known from contagious Abortion, infectious abortion, epizootic abortion and Bang\u2019s disease. it is a zoonotic disease. Humans may get infected with this disease either through consumption of infected milk or handling during kidding.<\/p>\n<p>Diagnosis of this disease is usually made by isolating the organism from foetus placenta, vaginal discharge, or milk.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Symptoms<\/strong>\u00a0of Brucellosis<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Abortion<\/li>\n<li>Joint swelling<\/li>\n<li>Retention of placenta<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Treatment of brucellosis is difficult because the organism is an intracellular parasite.<\/li>\n<li>Long-acting oxytetracycline combined with streptomycin may be useful.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Vaccination of calves at the age 3 to 6 months of age with B melitensis Rev 1 vaccine (Live attenuated) is recommended universally for prevention of this disease.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Anthrax<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Anthrax is a highly fatal Bacterial disease of zoonotic potential. It is caused by Bacillus anthracis a large gram-positive aerobic spore forming bacteria. The infections spread through feed and water contaminated with spores.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<strong>Common symptoms of Anthrax<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Sudden death with bleeding from all-natural orifices especially nostrils and mouths of the dead animal are characteristics of this disease.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A spore vaccine containing a suspension of live spores of the attenuated non-capsulated strain of Bacillus anthracis, is used in endemic areas.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The disease affected animal should be burned or buried deeply to avoid dissemination and persistence of spores in the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Contact the veterinarian immediately if the animal suspected from this disease.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Theileriosis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It is a protozoan disease caused by theileria parasite. It can be transmitted through a tick bite.
