It is because\u00a0of Change made by Google in 2014 to all the Android Smart Phone in India.\u00a0With this change the then UIDAI helpline number and Distress Number(112) is automatically added to all the Android Mobile Phones in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur internal review has revealed that in 2014, the then UIDAI helpline number and the 112 distress helpline number were inadvertently coded into the SetUp wizard of the Android release given to OEMs for use in India and has remained there since. We will work towards fixing this in an upcoming release of SetUp wizard which will be made available to OEMs over the next few weeks,\u201d said a spokesperson from Google.<\/span><\/p>\n

This all started when a French security expert named\u00a0Elliot Alderson questioned UIDAI on Twitter, he said<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMany people, with different providers, with and without an #Aadhaar card, with and without the mAadhaar app installed, noticed that your phone number is predefined in their contact list by default without their knowledge. Can you explain why?\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

With this Tweet, people became concerned about the problem, and a vast majority of them started Tweeting about it.\u00a0Soon people began to assume that their Mobile\u00a0is hacked.<\/span><\/p>\n

The assumption converted to believe when people came to know that\u00a0the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Chairman R.S. Sharma shared his 12 Digits Aadhaar no. on Twitter and challenged hacker to harm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later when the matter came to UIDAI, they denied any blame regarding the problem and said that \u201cthey haven\u2019t asked or communicated to any manufacturer or service provider for providing any such facility.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Even the Telecom company was clueless regarding the autosave number of UIDAI. Later the matter was forwarded to Google for investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n
